TED Talks - One of my favourite places to visit!

If you asked me which were the sites that I visited everyday, then TEDTalks would be up there!
TED's vision is to welcome "people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world.I am constantly inspired to challenge my thinking, and finding new ways to inspire the educators I train. This collection of TEDTalks does just that, check out the post I made on my facebook page!

Adora Svitak: What adults can learn from kids | Talk Video | TED.com

So, this year I have enrolled to do my Masters of Education (Knowledge Networks and Digital Innovation), I am both looking forward to it, and wondering how on earth I am going to fit it all in!
Anyway, part of the assessment is to have a reflection blog created specifically for that purpose. So, at times I will cross post as I am sure that many of my posts will be relevant here as well!

This is what I posted last night after engaging in our online orientation session! Bring it on! ....
Just before we all get started on this amazing journey that we are about to embark on, and maybe even if you have been doing this for a while, I thought I would point you into the direction of Adora Svitak. This is one of my favourite TED Talks, because it reminds us of the importance of thinking creatively. Children have the most amazing thinking, in her words they have 'bold ideas, wild creativity and optimism'. I thought that maybe you could all do with a bit of that ;)

How do you further your professional development?

So, whilst watching TED Talks, as I do when I should be doing important things such as housework, I can across this fantastic talk by Daphne Koller. She, along with her colleague, Angrew Ng, founded Coursera, which is an online portal, delivering classes, from top colleges and universities from around the world for free. Well, I couldn't pass up that opportunity, so I went and had a look.
I didn't go too deep looking for a course to do, but found something interesting called "Inspiring Leadership Through Emotional Intelligence". It is 8 weeks, you get readings, tasks and even final assessments. Hey, why not?!
So, over the next few weeks I am going to track some of my assessments here on this blog, I figured they are relevant and relate to job description.
If you are interested, you can see the TED Talks here:

and you can check our Coursera here : https://www.coursera.org/ . There is even an app, which has everything from your course directly on it.

I guess we will see how I go!?
